General Dashboard FAQs

How do I add a dashboard user?

Anyone on your team can add a user to the dashboard! Go to Settings (left nav) → Dashboard Users (top nav) → click "+ Add" in the top right → enter their info and seat type → click "Create User." They'll get an email invite with a temporary password.

ReusePass FAQs

What's the best way to find a ReusePass consumer in the dashboard?

Go to ReusePass → Activity → Rentals → click the search bar and select a query type (ConsumerName, ConsumerID, or PhoneNumber) to narrow your search.

How do I see the total number of consumers?

Go to ReusePass → Consumers. The count shows at the top (e.g., "25+"). Click "Load More" to scroll through more consumers.

How do I cancel a rental?

Go to ReusePass → Activity → Rentals → click the rental row to open details → click "Cancel Rental" in the side panel.

How do I delete a ReusePass consumer?

Email us the consumer's phone number and campus at clientsuccess@topanga.io

How do I change a ScanApp password?

Go to Settings → ScanApp Accounts → find the account → click the 3-dot menu → Change Password → save.

Can I export data?

Yes! Go to ReusePass → Activity → click "Actions" in the top right → "View & download reports."

StreamLine FAQs

How do I edit an observation label?

Tap the edit icon on any observation → search for the correct menu item (options are from that day's menu) → select and save. If it's not listed, choose "Label not found."

What does "Label not found" mean?

The correct item wasn't available in the menu. These observations won't appear in production summaries or push back to your MMS, but they count in summary totals.

What does "Label pending" mean?

The observation is still being processed. No action needed.

What are Carryover and Prepared?

Carryover: End-of-day food that can be reused tomorrow. Prepared: Food ready to serve. Both work like waste tracking with different color coding on the scale.

What are Production Opportunities?

AI-powered suggestions for your highest-impact waste reduction. Found under Insights. We recommend checking weekly.

Can I filter observations by type?

Yes! Use the "Observation Type" filter to see only Waste, Carryover, or Prepared.

Ken Field, Indiana University Director of Residential Dining, and Elizabeth Riede, Appalachian State Executive Director of Campus Dining, joined this live panel chat hosted by Page Schult, Topanga CEO and Co-Founder, where they discussed how the evolution of different sustainability technologies are impacting campus dining programs, as well as the value of tech-enabled reusables packaging programs like Topanga's ReusePass.

Both shared from first-hand experience what it looked like to launch + scale a purely residential program and how they were able to measure the impact of reusables on their campus-wide sustainability efforts and overall ROI.

For context, both IU and App State launched their ReusePass programs in the Fall of ’23. Since then, both have been able to drastically reduce waste on campus, reduce their monthly costs that were previously going towards disposables, and look into retail expansion thanks to the success of the program.

Other areas that were covered in this webinar include:

  • Capturing reliable data to measure cost savings and impact
  • How that data can be leveraged to build out more robust and accountable reusables programs
  • Why 1:1 container tracking outperforms token and carabiner systems
  • How to utilize impact reporting data to engage your community
  • Why RFID scanning is great for reusables
  • And more!
